PREVIOUSLY ARRESTED IN BROWARD FOR DUI. SUSPENDED FROM DEPARTMENT.
BocaNewsNow.com learned Tuesday that Walsh is a police officer with the West Palm Beach Police Department. Officials with the department confirmed our information and issued this statement:
“The West Palm Beach Police Department holds all employees to the highest standards of professionalism and conduct,” said West Palm Beach Police Spokesperson Rachel Leitão. “This conduct is inconsistent with those standards. As a result, the officer has been placed on administrative leave pending further investigation.”
Walsh was arrested following the crash at SW 18th Street and Carolwood Lane in Boca Raton around 7:45 p.m. on Saturday. An arrest report says he immediately became combative and threatening to deputies. They charged him with battery on an officer, resisting an officer, simple assault on an officer, DUI, refusing to submit to a DUI test, and refusing to accept/sign citation or post bond.
This isn’t Walsh’s first arrest. Timothy Walsh was taken into custody in Broward County for DUI back in 2018. Court records notably do not show the disposition of the case, but Walsh sued BSO — and Sheriff Tony Gregory — for more than $100,000.
