St. Andrews Country Club rejects Boca Raton’s annexation effort

St. Andrews Country Club, with a tax base of more than $1.3 billion, has no interest in becoming part of Boca Raton.

The city made a pitch last year to annex the golf course community that lies along its northern border, arguing it could offer more services than Palm Beach County. Its HOA, though, has concluded “it was in the community’s best interest to remain under the county.”

The club is in an unincorporated area west of Jog Road and north of Clint Moore Road. Its residents pay property taxes to the county and receive governmental services from it, including law enforcement and fire protection…
