Boca Raton Regional Hospital Sued After Patient Falls From Wheelchair

Mary Ann Cohen just filed the suit in Palm Beach County Circuit Court, alleging the June 18, 2025 fall left her with a back injury and extensive bruising on her back and arms. According to the complaint.

The lawsuit accuses the hospital of multiple instances of negligence, including failing to maintain its premises in a safe condition, failing to correct the damaged wheelchair despite knowing or reasonably should have known about the hazard, and failing to warn Cohen about the dangerous condition. The complaint further claims the hospital failed to properly train employees to inspect for and address such hazards, and that the condition occurred with enough regularity to make it foreseeable.

Cohen is seeking damages in excess of $50,001, citing bodily injury, pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, mental anguish, loss of enjoyment of life, medical expenses, and lost earning capacity.
