BOCA RATON, Fla. (CBS12) — A Boca Raton man was arrested after deputies said he tried to sell a stolen electric scooter on Facebook Marketplace just hours after it was taken from outside a local gym.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said that Robert Erclauz, 47, is charged with dealing in stolen property by use of the internet following an investigation into the theft of a black HiBoy S2 electric scooter valued at $399.
According to a probable cause affidavit, the scooter was reported stolen June 23 from outside EOS Fitness. The victim told deputies he rode the scooter to the gym, parked it at a bike rack, locked it using the HiBoy cellphone application, and went inside to work out.
