Another heat advisory is in effect for a larger portion of South Florida today, with “advisory level heat indices” predicted to continue.
Areas in Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach and “mainland” Monroe counties, including Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Homestead and West Palm Beach are all under warning, according to the National Weather Service Miami.
The heat advisory is expected to last from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on July 8, with another advisory likely to be issued Thursday. There is a major risk of heat illness this week, according to the NWS, and maximum heat indices, or “feels-like” temperatures, will range from 105 to 110 degrees “each afternoon this week across South Florida.”…
