Florida public official gets away with leaving boy, 5, in car for eight hours

A Florida public official accused of leaving a five-year-old boy in a car for more than eight hours has had her case dropped, officials said.

Parks and Recreation Director Zonya Ray was supposed to face a judge on Tuesday, but prosecutors dropped the charge after a police officer failed to show up to court, the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office told the Daily Mail.

The reason for the officer’s absence is unknown…
