Federal Investigators Treat Missing Michigan Mom Lynette Hooker’s Bahamas Disappearance as Possible Murder Case

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL — Federal investigators are now treating the disappearance of Lynette Hooker as a possible murder case, according to a report. Hooker, 55, vanished during an April trip to the Bahamas while traveling aboard the couple’s sailboat, the Soulmate.

Authorities have not filed charges against her husband, Brian Hooker, 59, who said she fell overboard during rough weather on the night of April 5.

The boat’s location data stopped transmitting the night Lynette Hooker disappeared and did not start again until the next morning, the report said. That gap has become one of the key points in the renewed look at the case.

A federal source told Fox News that investigators plan to search the sailboat for signs of foul play. The boat was first seized in the Bahamas and later moved to Fort Pierce, Florida, before being taken to Fort Lauderdale.
