Skeletal Remains of Woman Found in 1983 Finally ID-ed, Police Now Ask Public for Help In Solving Murder

Skeletal remains found off a remote stretch of U.S. 27 in the Florida Everglades in 1983 have been identified as a Georgia woman, and investigators are now asking the public for help in solving her murder.

The Broward Sheriff’s Office announced this week that the victim, long known only as an unidentified homicide victim, has been confirmed through DNA testing as 23-year-old Shelia Ann Nichols of Decatur, Georgia.
