The head of a Broward County cleaning service is apologizing days after a video of him using a racial slur in a Miami Walmart parking lot went viral.
Damien Verdin, the 66-year-old co-owner of Patty’s Cleaning Service in Pembroke Pines, expressed regret over his outburst at a Walmart electric vehicle charging station, adding he was going through “several difficult circumstances” and “under an enormous amount of emotional pressure” at the time.
“I deeply regret the language I used that day. Nothing that happened justifies those words,” Verdin started the July 19 Facebook apology post. “They were wrong, hurtful, and completely unacceptable. I take full responsibility for what I said, and I am deeply sorry to everyone I offended.”…
