Hard landing leaves helicopter on its side near US 27 and Pembroke Road in Pembroke Pines

PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. — A helicopter pilot made a hard landing southwest of U.S. 27 and Pembroke Road in Pembroke Pines on Saturday morning, police confirmed.

A Federal Aviation Administration spokesperson said the helicopter, a Robinson R22 with registration number N8316N, rolled onto its side after landing near Opa-locka West Airport at about 7:45 a.m.

Authorities said the pilot and another individual were on board, and no injuries have been reported at this time. Both individuals are “ambulatory,” according to Pembroke Pines Fire Rescue officials. They have not been identified at this time…
