Man faces 21 charges after police accused him of 2-day crime in Miami-Dade

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — A 23-year-old man faced 21 new charges on Monday after an alleged two-day crime spree in Miami-Dade County that included trying to kill an ex-girlfriend and firing a rifle at a detective, records show.

On Aug. 9, Karyne E. David fired into his ex-girlfriend’s home at 9:50 p.m. at Northwest 19 Avenue and 185th Terrace in Miami Gardens, according to a police officer’s arrest report.

On Aug. 10, David “shouldered” a rifle and pointed it at a Miami Gardens special victims unit detective, who then “discharged his duty pistol,” before a pursuit started, according to a police report…
