Coral Springs man sentenced to 45 years in woman’s Delray Beach canal killing

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — A Coral Springs man was sentenced Thursday to 40 years in prison for second-degree murder, plus another five years for tampering with evidence, after a Palm Beach County jury found him guilty in May in the 2023 killing of a woman whose body was found in a Delray Beach canal.

Christopher Soto, 25, also was ordered to serve five years of probation and undergo a mental-health evaluation upon his release from prison.

The sentence came after a day-long hearing at the Palm Beach County Courthouse in West Palm Beach, where relatives of victim Terra Boesch asked the judge to impose a life sentence and Soto’s family and mental-health professionals testified about his history of mental illness…
