Fort Lauderdale mayor urges residents to learn about Amendment 3 ahead of November vote

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Fort Lauderdale Mayor Dean Trantalis is urging residents to educate themselves about Florida Amendment 3, a proposed constitutional amendment on the November ballot that would change the state’s property tax structure.

Trantalis discussed the measure Wednesday during Fort Lauderdale’s 2026 State of the City address at The Parker, where he also highlighted the city’s investments in public safety, infrastructure and quality of life.
