PBSO tells BocaNewsNow.com that the crash happened at 9:49 p.m. near D Road. PBSO says a Ford Transit van driven by Flor Marina Maeda, 53, of Boca Raton, was heading east in the inside lane when Derrick Teets came up behind it at high speed on a 2021 Honda CBR600RR. The front of the motorcycle hit the rear of the van.
Teets, who was wearing a helmet, was thrown from the bike as it slid into the median. Palm Beach County Fire Rescue pronounced him dead at the scene.
Maeda brought the van to a controlled stop east of the crash and was not hurt. The Sheriff’s Office says Teets’ next of kin has been notified…
