Florida Man Allegedly Skip-Scans Target Items 15 Times Before Cops Catch On

21-year-old Porter D. Konold of Boca Raton, Florida, was arrested in September after a Target loss prevention officer allegedly caught him trying to leave the store with unpaid merchandise. He was allegedly placing unpaid merchandise into a bag at self-checkout, mixing those items with things he had apparently already paid for.

The loss prevention officer was from a Target store on West Linton Boulevard in Delray Beach. According to the officer, he had seen Konold allegedly pay for some items using Apple Pay while leaving other items unscanned. Ironically, it’s the same Apple Pay payment method that apparently linked Konold to his previous alleged crimes.

The police were notified about Konold, prompting them to look further into him. It didn’t take long to connect him to 15 alleged theft incidents across two Target stores with a total loss of $685.51. This led to Target’s loss prevention staff using a case management system to review purchases made with Konold’s Apple Pay account…
