Deputy Hospitalized, Death Investigated after Chemical Substance Found in Broward County

WESTON, FL — A distressing situation unfolded in Broward County as law enforcement responded to a distressing call involving a deceased woman discovered in a car containing a suspicious chemical substance. The incident, which took place on Friday morning, resulted in the hospitalization of a deputy as a precautionary measure.

According to Gerdy St. Louis, a spokesperson for the Broward County Sheriff’s Office, deputies initially received a call to conduct a welfare check on a missing individual at a residence on North Ocean Drive in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea. Upon arrival, they found the home empty. However, further investigation led them to the missing person’s vehicle near the 31000 block of Everglades Parkway in Weston.

In response to this new lead, a deputy from the Broward County Sheriff’s Office Weston district rushed to the scene just after 11:30 a.m. To their dismay, inside the vehicle, the missing person was discovered alongside a chemical substance. Sadly, the individual, whose identity remains undisclosed, was pronounced dead at the scene.
