More Bad News For Fort Lauderdale Mayor Trantalis & City Commissioners as Crime, Homelessness, and City Services Cast City as a Worst-Run Contender.
Fort Lauderdale, which should be known for its beautiful beaches and vibrant culture, has recently been ranked as the 37th worst-run city in the United States. Based on data from WalletHub’s Best- and Worst-Run Cities in America report. This ranking has confirmed residents’ worst fears and revealed a city commission in chaos and an ineffective executive office.
The ranking was determined by evaluating cities’ overall operating efficiency, which measures the quality of services provided relative to the city’s total budget per capita. The metrics used to determine the overall quality of city services rank and score comprise weighted average scores in six key categories:
Financial Stability: This includes factors like Moody’s city credit rating.
Education: Metrics such as school quality and educational attainment were considered.
Health: This includes factors like average life expectancy and access to healthcare facilities.
