Some Floridians may not be very surprised to know that a Pompano Beach Macy’s (and parking lot) has sold for millions of dollars. After all, I’ve previously written about a Boynton Beach Macy’s sale with the possibility of apartments. And another selling in Pembroke Pines to the owners of Lotte Market. And now, a Pompano Beach store is getting a similar treatment.
About The Macy’s And Mall In Question: The 153,775-square-foot Macy’s at the Pompano Citi Centre mall closed in 2020. Later that year, The Morgan Group had the sale of the Macy’s under contract and sought to rezone the property for apartments that would include a gym, pool, clubhouse, and dog park.
The Pompano Citi Centre mall features some heavy-hitting retailers like Lowes, TJ-Maxx, and Five Below.
The mall has been reviewed 4,700 times and earns 4.3 out of 5 stars on Google reviews. Many enjoy the variety of retailers and restaurants offered. A reviewer named Mick wrote, in part:
“Large outdoor walk-through mall with 3 levels. Lots of large walking paths to go through and shop or sit and relax. (There’s a) TJ Maxx, Lowes, Burlington, JC Penny, Foot Locker, Bath & Body Works, Five Below, Five Guys, Chilis, Wing Stop and more…”
