A fatal collision in Coral Springs has left a community shaken and an investigation wide open. A man riding an electric bicycle lost his life Friday night after his e-bike collided with a marked Coral Springs Police Department vehicle near the 4300 block of Riverside Drive. Despite immediate medical efforts by officers and fire rescue on scene, the man did not survive.
The incident unfolded quickly, and so did the response. Officers who arrived found the scene of a collision between an e-bike and one of their own marked patrol cars. They did not wait for anyone else to step in; they began providing medical aid to the injured rider right there on the spot. The Coral Springs Fire Department then transported the victim to a nearby hospital, where he was ultimately pronounced dead.
As of now, the victim’s identity has not been publicly released, likely pending notification of his next of kin. Details about the officer or officers involved in the crash are also scarce. Authorities have yet to confirm whether there was an officer inside the marked vehicle at the time of impact or whether anyone in the police vehicle sustained any injuries…
