A Southwest Airlines flight attendant whose job typically includes reminding passengers not to tamper with aircraft equipment is now accused of doing just that — only this time, on the ground.
A Fort Lauderdale hotel has filed suit against the airline and the employee, alleging the attendant triggered a fire sprinkler that flooded multiple rooms and caused nearly $217,000 in damage, according to 12 News in Florida.
According to the complaint, filed April 8 in federal court, the incident occurred on or about Feb. 1, 2025, while the flight attendant was staying at the Renaissance Hotel Fort Lauderdale for work.
