BOCA RATON, Fla. (CBS12) — Charges have been upgraded against a Boca Raton man accused of confronting a 13-year-old boy inside a gated community, according to newly filed court records.
Mitchell Schuman, 62, is now facing two counts of battery, along with petit theft and criminal mischief, stemming from an April 3 incident inside the Lotus community in West Boca Raton.
Under Florida law, the charges could carry a combined maximum of more than three years in jail if sentences were imposed consecutively, though all are misdemeanor-level offenses and similar cases are often resolved with probation, fines, or diversion rather than significant jail time…
