South Florida burglary victim had valuables pawned off ― and his neighbor was the suspect, cops say

NORTH MIAMI BEACH, Fla. — A man is facing 32 felony charges after Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office deputies said he sold a burglary victim’s valuables for tens of thousands of dollars.

According to MDSO, that burglary victim lives on the same North Miami Beach street as suspect Elvin Baltazar ― only about five houses down. The victim had been burglarized while out of town from Dec. 16, 2025, and Jan. 28, 2026.

Investigators said Baltazar, 44, made more than $28,000 selling his neighbor’s items at A New Hocke Shoppe, about two blocks away from both of their homes…
