Inland showers expected to fade through the evening, higher rain chances Sunday

FORT MYERS, Fla.

Leftover inland showers are expected to fade through the evening leaving much of the Gulf Coast dry. Humid and warm weather is expected overnight as lows settle to the upper 70s.

An increase in moisture is expected on Sunday, leading to expanded rain coverage and chances for Southwest Florida. Onshore winds should provide the opportunity for coastal rain before the noon hour in a few spots west of the interstate. As winds continue to push showers inland, heavier rain and even a few thunderstorms are possible for locations just west of I-75. Storm activity will begin to wane once the sun begins to set…
