FORT MYERS, Fla. —
The National Hurricane Center has outlined a new area of interest in the Gulf for potential development. As of Sunday at 2 p.m., this area has a 40% chance of development over the next 7 days.
A broad area of low pressure could form in the southwestern Gulf as an area of disturbed weather sits over the warm waters of the Bay of Campeche. Any development of this system will be slow. This will help to increase rain chances over Central Mexico and the Northern Gulf Coast.
If this system were to obtain a name, the next name on the list would be Isaias.
