Walmart to remodel five stores on Gulf Coast

Changes are coming to a handful of Walmart stores around the region, from Tampa to Estero. This year, the world’s largest retailer plans to remodel 58 stores in Florida, including several on the Gulf Coast, to modernize in-store and digital shopping experiences for customers.

Stores in the Gulf Coast region that will be remodeled include the following:

  • Braden River Walmart Supercenter, 2911 53rd Ave. E.
  • Bradenton Walmart Neighborhood Market, 4536 53rd Ave. E.
  • Estero Walmart Supercenter, 19975 S. Tamiami Trail
  • Sarasota Walmart Neighborhood Market, 5401 Palmer Crossing Circle
  • Tampa Walmart Supercenter, 2701 E. Fletcher Ave.

“By modernizing our store, we’re making shopping easier, whether customers are walking the aisles, picking up an order on the go or having essentials delivered when life gets busy,” Walmart U.S. Southeast Business Unit Senior Vice President Nick Berkeley says in a statement.

In the past five years, Walmart says it has invested $1.5 billion to upgrade Florida stores. This year alone, it plans to remodel 650 supercenters and neighborhood markets nationwide, creating construction jobs as well as positions in retail, pharmacy and store leadership…
