CAPE CORAL, Florida — The Cape Coral Police Department conducted a citywide traffic saturation operation on May 15, 2026, specifically targeting distracted driving.
The operation, which ran from 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., resulted in 100 total traffic stops and 96 citations, according to a press release from the department. Officers issued 48 speed citations, six seatbelt citations, 75 moving citations, and 21 non-moving citations. Additionally, 13 citations were given for violating traffic control or signal devices, and 36 were for distracted driving.
