PUNTA GORDA: UF students present plan for vacant $12M city marketplace property

PUNTA GORDA — University of Florida students studying architecture and landscape architecture took a crack at developing the long-vacant city marketplace property in downtown Punta Gorda.

The 5.42-acre parcel, vacant since Hurricane Charley in 2004, is owned by PGI Marketplace LLC of Naples. It was recently listed for $12 million.

But there was a catch in the project parameters…
