Fort Wayne Tim Hortons closes after fight, death

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — Nearly two weeks after a woman died after a fight at Tim Horton’s on Ice Way, one of the chain’s employees said the coffee shop will not reopen.

Last week, a sign was posted on the store’s door which explained drive thru was the only way to get served. A few days later, traffic cones blocked off the coffee shop’s entrances. On Tuesday, WANE 15 visited the location and spoke with a Tim Horton’s assistant manager who was collecting supplies from the store. She declined to come on camera but did say the store was permanently closed. Traffic cones blocked every entrance, and a single security guard sat in his car. He told WANE 15 he works for a local security agency contracted by Tim Hortons and was camped out to keep away vandals and protesters.

Earlier this month, Fort Wayne’s Tim Hortons was the scene of a fight between the store’s employees and 75-year-old Anita Grayson. Grayson later died in a hospital that same day last week…
