FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — WANE 15 obtained a letter from Downtown Fort Wayne to Fort Wayne City Council calling for a hold on Tuesday night’s vote for a new homeless service center.
The bulk of the concerns stems from the fact that Fort Wayne has apparently viewed the LTHC Homeless Services (formerly Lafayette Transitional Housing Center) as inspiration for the proposed Anchor Homeless Resource Center.
“The LTHC has been cited locally as a “Model” or “Inspiration” for the Anchor Resource Center in planning and development,” reads part of the letter from Frank Howard, Downtown Fort Wayne COO.
Howard’s letter hit the inbox of Fort Wayne City Council at 6:01 p.m. on Monday, about 24 hours before the body would discuss appropriating money to purchase land at 333 East Washington Blvd. for the center…
