20-year-old faces reckless homicide charge, claims Canterbury Green shooting was an accident

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – A man faces a reckless homicide charge for firing a stolen gun – which he claimed to believe was not loaded – ultimately killing a man in a Fort Wayne apartment.

The charge was filed Wednesday against 20-year-old Nolan Kloer, who court records show is from Kendallville. According to Allen Superior Court documents, Kloer was the one to let police into the Canterbury Green apartment on the afternoon of May 13. Police described him as “out of breath and frantic.”

“He had his hands in the air and stated, ‘he’s in my bedroom, he’s in my bedroom, it was a complete accident,’” police recounted in court documents.
