Indiana Employers Earn National Recognition For Workplace Excellence

FORT WAYNE — Several Indiana companies with a presence near were among those recognized in Newsweek’s 2026 rankings of America’s standout employers – with Fort Wayne-based Steel Dynamics earning a perfect five-star ranking.

Among the companies to receive honors were recreational vehicle supplier Lippert in Elkhart, automotive service provider Heartland Automotive in Greencastle and Fort Wayne-based handbag maker Vera Bradley, all earning four-star ratings in the national assessment. The rankings evaluated employers on factors linked to worker satisfaction, including leadership quality, compensation, career development opportunities and work-life balance.

In total, 17 Indiana-based employers made Newsweek’s annual list, which was compiled in partnership with New York-based Plant-A Insights Group. The recognition aims to spotlight organizations where employees feel supported, valued and motivated to succeed…
