FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – Lane restrictions and road closures are coming to Fort Wayne’s east side.
Starting Monday, City Utilities says its East Transmission Main Project will cause the following impacts to traffic:
- The westbound lane of New Haven Avenue will be closed between Meyer Road and Coliseum Boulevard South.
- The northbound lane of Coliseum Boulevard South will be closed south of McCormick Avenue
- The southbound access to the State Road 930 and Meyer Road intersection will be closed.
According to City Utilities, posted detours will use State Road 930/East Washington Boulevard or Maumee Avenue, depending on the direction of travel, along with South Anthony Boulevard, Wayne Trace, Oxford Street, and Paulding Street.
In addition to those posted detours, City Utilities says drivers trying to access businesses near Meyer Road, New Haven Avenue, Moeller Road, and State Road 930 should use the following routes:
- State Road 930 access from Meyer Road:
- West on Oxford Street, north on Wayne Trace, north on North Anthony Boulevard, and east on Maumee Avenue.
- Moeller Road access from New Haven Avenue:
- South on Wayne Trace, East on Oxford Street, South on Meyer Road, East on Paulding Avenue, and north on Adams Center Road.
City Utilities says the project includes construction of nearly four miles of 30-inch water transmission main that will ‘add redundancy and strengthen the water distribution system for the Harvester neighborhood and industrial area along New Haven Avenue and Meyer Road’…
