Chuck Surack says DeKalb Co. racetrack project ‘dead’ after efforts to acquire land fail

(Inside INdiana Business) – The founder of Fort Wayne-based Sweetwater Sound said plans for a new racetrack in Auburn have come to a halt after talks to purchase the land needed for the project ended.

Chuck Surack told Inside INdiana Business earlier this month that the vision for the track could have resulted in up to $250 million in investment.

Surack was developing the racetrack with local entrepreneurs Bill Bean and Tom Kelley, who together own Summit Motorsports Club. The venue was slated to be built on 300 acres of land at the site of the former Kruse auction park near Interstate 69 and County Road 11A in Auburn…
