Pedestrian critically hurt in downtown Fort Wayne crash

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — A man has critical injuries after he was hit by a vehicle in downtown Fort Wayne late Wednesday night.

It happened shortly before 10:30 p.m. at the intersection of S. Lafayette St. and E. Washington Blvd. Investigators say the vehicle was traveling on Lafayette and struck the pedestrian while turning left onto Washington.

Medics took the man to a hospital in critical condition. Due to the seriousness of his injuries, the Fort Wayne Police Department’s Fatal Accident Crash Team took over the investigation. The department’s Air Support Unit assisted…
