FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – An active week of weather continues across 21Country with more shower chances this afternoon and smoke returning.
We begin the weekend with much improved air quality, although we still expect our air today to reach “Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups”, which is a level 3/6 on the air quality index. This means that for those with pre-existing health conditions and breathing difficulties, limiting time outdoors is still recommended.
However, this forecast may become complicated this afternoon as thunderstorm chances return once again. A line of strong to severe thunderstorms is possible this afternoon and evening as a front slides southward. Damaging winds will be the main threat, but a brief spin-up tornado or two cannot be ruled out, although the chances are low…
