GARRETT, Ind. (WANE) – Sometimes it’s not how you start, but what finish is what truly matters. That cliche can be applied to Garrett football following their first year with new head coach Chris Albertin.
After starting the 2025 season with a 2-4 record, the Railroaders got back on track by winning four of their next five games to reach the 3A sectional championship round. However, a heartbreaking loss at Angola cost Garrett back-to-back sectional titles.
Several seniors graduate from Garrett who contributed to the Railroaders’ recent run of success. One of the few returning playmakers is fullback and linebacker Alex Guzman. The rising senior rushed for 635 yards and eight touchdowns in his junior season. Aiden Reed is also expected to be a key contributer in the backfield after rushing for 479 yards and three touchdowns last season…
