Section of Clinton Street closes downtown for manhole repairs

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – City Utilities says that they closed a section of Clinton Street for repairs in the downtown area.

According to a press release, two lanes of Clinton Street between Mayne Street and Washington Boulevard a while crews work to raise a sunken manhole and spray-line a brick sewer from 1867.

The spray-lining process creates a new pipe within the existing sewer, extending its useful life by approximately 80 years without requiring the entire pipe to be excavated and replaced, according to City Utilities…
