NEW HAVEN, Ind. (WPTA) – A railroad crossing on Broadway in New Haven is blocked an average of 22 times a day, cutting off downtown from the rest of the city, according to city data. Now, city officials are taking the issue to Washington.
The city says drivers waited more than eight minutes per delay on average in July, and at least one blockage lasted nearly one hour and 45 minutes.
Businesses feel the impact
Erika Leichty, at XO Salon, said the delays affect her clients and her schedule.
