Pro-casino group launches TV campaign to sway votes in Allen County

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — A new TV ad (below) hit the airwaves this week, as the push for or against a regional resort casino in Northeast Indiana entered the final stretch, with voters in Allen, DeKalb and Steuben counties to decide yes or no this November.

The ad is being paid for by Advance Fort Wayne Allen County, a political action group designed to “educate the voting public and advocate for a favorable vote in the referendum question regarding a casino locating in Fort Wayne/Allen County.”

The group has support from both business and labor, according to the three men who spoke to WANE 15 Thursday: Tim Haffner, corporate attorney for Faegre Drinker Biddle & Reath, Tom Borne, retired owner of Asher Agency, and Steve Corona, current FWCS School Board Member, who said his gambling experience ends with church raffles…
