FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – The New Haven Police Department (NHPD) saved a factory worker’s life using a recently donated Automated External Defibrillator (AED); now, the factory is offering its gratitude by donating even more AEDs to the agency.
Sanko Gosei Technologies USA, Inc. donated 13 AEDs to NHPD, expanding an initiative with the goal of having an AED in every officer’s patrol car, as police officers are often the first to arrive on scene for emergencies.
The donation comes after NHPD was called to Sanko Gosei for reports of an unconscious, not-breathing worker in August. NHPD officers arrived on scene first, and the responding officer, Officer Pope, immediately began using a recently implemented AED from his squad car, administered a shock, and began CPR while waiting for medics…
