TinCaps slug out of 4-game losing skid in series finale at Lansing

LANSING, Mich. (WANE) – Stuck in their worst losing skid of the season, the TinCaps got back in the win column with a 5-4 win in Sunday’s series finale at the Lansing Lugnuts.

Fort Wayne started off strong with a solo shot from Brandon Butterworth in the first inning. Lansing answered back with runs in the fourth and fifth inning to take a 2-1 lead.

The TinCaps answered back with another dinger in the sixth inning. Brandon Karptahios blasted his third homer of the season to left center field. The 2-run shot put the TinCaps back in front, 3-2. After Lansing tied the game on a RBI single from Casey Yamamuchi in the bottom half of the sixth, Tommy White hit a solo shot in the seventh to put Lansing ahead, 4-3…
