FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — Fort Wayne Mayor Sharon Tucker and her administration have rolled out a plan to help fight homelessness in Fort Wayne. In fact, the page advertising the plan is titled “Strategy to Prevent and End Homelessness” and describes a homeless resource center.
The center would be a 24/7 homeless shelter located at 333 E. Washington Blvd. near The Rescue Mission. The low-barrier shelter would serve approximately 150 individuals daily, including men, women, families with children, and couples. A purchase agreement is in place pending City Council approval.
The plan’s location, however, has been questioned by local businesses…
