FORT WORTH, TX — A 24-year-old Fort Worth man has been sentenced to 12 years in state prison after a Tarrant County jury found him guilty of the continuous sexual assault of a child he originally targeted on social media.
Antonio Latrell Bunnitt Jr. was convicted and sentenced on Thursday, June 25, 2026. The verdict concludes a multi-year legal process that began with his arrest by the Fort Worth Police Department in late 2024.
Social Media Grooming Escalated to Assault
The criminal investigation revealed that Bunnitt utilized social media platforms in 2024 to identify and connect with the young victim. After establishing an online relationship, Bunnitt transitioned the digital interactions into physical meetings.
Evidence presented at trial proved that Bunnitt subsequently sexually assaulted the child multiple times over the course of that year. Following an intensive investigation by the Fort Worth Police Department, detectives intercepted Bunnitt and took him into custody in December 2024.
Previous Victims Take the Stand
