An armed neighbor stopped a machete attack after hearing a woman scream, turning himself into the attacker’s next target.

A North Fort Worth neighborhood was shaken after police said a man armed with a machete dragged a woman down the street, struck her with the weapon’s handle, and then turned toward an armed homeowner who came outside to intervene.

The confrontation ended when the homeowner, identified by neighbors as Victor, shot and killed the attacker after police said the machete-wielding man approached him. The case was later discussed by gun-rights commentator Colion Noir, who argued that the neighbor’s decision to step in likely prevented a far worse outcome.
