What foodies call the ‘best cheesesteak in Fort Worth’ gets a brick and mortar

When Philly native Davonte Fung moved to Texas for his business consulting job, he noticed “the beef state don’t have any cheesesteaks.”

So he started Vonte’s Philly Cheesesteaks out of a food trailer in front of The Local Pub at 2800 Bledsoe St. About a year-and-a-half later, he’s opening his first brick and mortar into the lower level of Wabi House at 1229 8th Ave.

All Philly cheesesteaks are made with thinly-shaved ribeye and Amoroso rolls, which are ordered from Philadelphia. These rolls are from the Philadelphia-based Amoroso’s Baking Company and are the traditional option for a Philly cheesesteak or hoagie sandwich…
