North Texas city council member arrested, charged with bribery, police say

WESTWORTH VILLAGE, Texas — A North Texas city council member has been arrested and charged with bribery, according to Westworth Village police.

In a press release, police say council member Halden David Griffith was arrested Friday at 1 p.m. Police say this is related to a felony bribery investigation that began earlier this month but have not disclosed the incident that led to the arrest.

“The city received serious accusations from several citizens that a current elected official, and possibly others acting in concert, on Election Day violated your Constitutional rights to a fair election,” says Westworth Village Mayor. L. Kelly Jones. “These accusations must not be taken lightly; duty requires they be fully investigated.”…
