Alysa Liu gets her first taste of ‘ice cream for life’ at historic Oakland shop

Bay Area sports hero and Olympic gold medalist Alysa Liu finally took advantage of one of the remaining spoils that she earned from her heroics in Milan: “ice cream for life.”

Fentons Creamery, Oakland’s historic ice cream parlor, made the offer to Liu after she became the first American woman to win an individual figure skating gold medal in 24 years. The 20-year-old took her first trip on Monday, according to an Instagram post made by the parlor.

“We get asked all the time if hometown skating star and Gold Medal Champion Alysa Liu has stopped by to try her signature Fentons flavor,” the post reads. “The answer is YES!”…
