(KRON) — Police in San Jose are investigating the city’s 12th homicide of the year after a woman was found fatally stabbed at a residence overnight Monday.
San Jose Police Department officers responded at 12:44 a.m. to a residence in the 5800 block of Snell Avenue “to conduct a welfare check on a subject who was reported to have been assaulted,” according to authorities. A woman was found by first responders suffering from at least one stab wound.
Despite life-saving efforts, the woman was pronounced deceased at the scene. Authorities did not release the victim’s identity.
A man who police said was known to the victim was taken into custody at the scene. Investigators are working to determine a motive for the homicide…
