Airport transit giant SuperShuttle Express has settled a disability-rights lawsuit filed by three Bay Area women, agreeing to carry wheelchairs in its vehicles.
The settlement. approved last week by U.S. District Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers of Oakland, includes a guarantee of wheelchair-accessible service by this December for passengers to all U.S. airports served by SuperShuttle, with ramps or lifts to carry the chairs into the vehicles. SuperShuttle also agreed to pay $6,000 to each of the three women and $122,000 to their lawyers for legal fees and expenses.
The company and its lawyers could not be reached for comment. While denying wrongdoing in court filings, SuperShuttle offered no objections to the settlement…
