July begins Wednesday for the Bay Area much the way June ended: mild and mostly quiet, with coastal clouds giving way to afternoon sunshine across most inland and bayside areas. Highs will stay in the 60s and 70s for most of the region, reaching 80s inland.
No major heat waves are in sight for now. But the dawn of midsummer is a good reminder that we’re transitioning deeper into fire weather season, with the risk slowly growing as grasses cure and dead fuels dry out.
